PowerPhotos allows you to split your image Photos.app among several libraries of photos, instead of storing everything in one giant library. You can easily switch between libraries, or just view the photos in your library directly from PowerPhotos, without having to open each library. PowerPhotos also supports search across all of your libraries at once, to help you find specific photos. If you're using iCloud photo library to sync photos with other devices that can help break the library and save on storage costs iCloud. Use one library to keep a smaller collection, which can be synchronized with iCloud, while keeping most of your photos in separate libraries so that they do not take place in the iCloud. PowerPhotos can analyze your library for duplicate photos, showing them side by side and giving you the opportunity to get rid of extra copies of the pictures that you no longer need.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause library switching to fail on certain setups
  • Fixed an issue where the edited version of some photos would not be shown when viewing the photo full size
  • PowerPhotos now requires OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" or later
  • Added support for copying photos, albums, and moments between libraries
  • Added support for merging Photos libraries
  • Added option to sort by filename or size in grid view
  • Fixed issue where PowerPhotos would not recognize that an Aperture library had finished migrating
  • We now prevent Photos from coming to the front when migrating iPhoto libraries in the background
