EtreCheck was meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Apple Support Communities as a place to get reliable help for your Mac.
I have compiled a short list of basic tips for a healty Mac. If you need futher help, I suggest you contact either Apple Support directly or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
EtreCheck is a simple little app to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. EtreCheck automatically removes any personally identifiable information from the output. EtreCheck does not need super-user privileges to run. It will also never ask for your password. It is signed with my Developer ID issued by Apple so it can be installed on systems protected by Apple's Gatekeeper system.
Version 2.4.2 brings the following changes:
- Provides better explanations for items in red
- Makes some suggestions for the most common and most critical problems
- Fixes missing machine icons
